A cat shows a person so much love and enjoys playing games. To keep your cat happy and active, introduce new toys and games often. It is not necessary to go overboard with spending to keep your cat amused. Follow along and you should have no problem with things.
Spay your female cat. This is true even if you think your cat is indoors only. One escape can lead to a lot of small kittens around! Having your cat spayed helps to control the pet population and will save you time and trouble.
Be certain your cat has regular vet visits. They need a routine check-up every year, maybe more of important shots are necessary. If your cat has any health issues or injuries, you should try and have them seen right away.
Think about having a microchip inserted in your cat. Even indoor cats get out sometimes. Tags and collars may be able to help you get your cat back, but cats can sometimes take these things off or they could get hung up on a tree or something. A microchip, on the other hand, is inserted near your cat’s shoulder blades, takes only a second to do, and all of your current contact info can be read through the chip. The majority of veterinarians possess scanners that can read your chips. Because these chips are placed underneath your cat’s skin, they won’t get lost.
Avoid the chance that your male cat will develop crystals in his system that will come out in his urine by feeding a high quality diet. It can be painful to pass these crystals and your vet bill will be priced accordingly. Feed your cat food that is low in magnesium. Always read labels. Avoid fish products.
Your cat has sensitive ears, especially in the car when they’re stressed out. You may enjoy it, but it could be hurting your cat’s ears. To keep your cat calm and collected over the course of your trip, keep the stereo low – or perhaps off entirely.
Little kids shouldn’t be left alone near cats. Make sure your child knows how to pet a cat. Show them how to gently pick kitty up and what kinds of activities are appropriate. A cat’s bones are not as strong as a dogs, and they should be treated more gently.
Try and figure out why kitty is meowing. Over time, you will pick up on the reasons why your cat is making this gesture. This could mean that your cat needs to go out or is hungry. You’ll learn her cues quickly.
Do you own a dog and cat? That dog will really love stalking (and eating) that cat food. You should keep your cat food away from the dog. This can prevent squabbles over water when their food is gone.
Take the time to make your cat familiar and comfortable with a carrier. Cats can’t be punished like dogs. Instead, cats are more likely to respond to words of encouragement. Leave your cat carrier open and put a few special toys inside. The cat will eventually get into it and feel comfy. Transporting the carrier with your cat inside makes your next trip out much easier.
You could be having fun with your cat right now, playing one of the games listed above. Not all cats will like every approach, but most do. A healthy, active cat will most often live longer and be happier.
