Both you and your dog will be significantly happier once he is trained. When your dog is well-trained, then both you and your dog will know exactly what is expected from each other. Once trained, you will not have to worry about behavior problems when taken out into public or left home alone. Although it may not be easy, the time you devote to teaching your dog manners, tricks, and the proper way to do things will be well spent.
During the dog training process, take care not to inadvertently reinforce bad behavior. Essentially, you must not give your dog something positive, like attention or a treat, when it behaves in a way you want to classify as negative. For instance, if your dog does not sit when commanded, do not rub his head affectionately unless he actually sits.
The best way to train a dog is by using positive reinforcement. Remember to show your dog positive attention when they do something good as often as you can. Never punish your dog with words or your hands. These forms of punishment are ineffective. Be firm, positive and consistent, and you will get great results.

When it comes to training a puppy, it is not a good idea to provide too much information and training at one time. Become Bored
When dogs become bored or anxious, they often chew on items. Dogs feel secure when enclosed in a safe place such as a dog crate. You can offer him a safe chew toy so he does not become bored while you are away.
Use your pet’s name in a positive connotation much more frequently than you do as part of a reprimand. Your dog will obey a call to its name and come when you call only if the name is associated with good things.
Through canine training sessions, both you and your dog will learn about building rules for your relationship. In the same way that these rules are helpful to human relationships, you and your dog will be able to enjoy the time you spend together more after there’s an understanding about how to follow the rules. Keep in mind that you must continue to reinforce everything you have taught your dog. Keep his knowledge sharp and stay on top of any deviations in his behavior. When your dog has learned everything that is basic, you can try more advanced things.
